Hello and welcome to the official website of the Geo Bay Swim. An ecological friendly 19 kilometre open ocean swimming race held in the pristine waters of the southwest of Western Australia’s Geographe Bay. The race follows the coast line from a start at the Quindalup boat ramp near Dunsborough to a finish at the world famous Busselton Jetty. It is open to solo, duo and 3 to 5 member teams.
The course follows the coastline to a distance of 300 metres offshore so no power boat support craft is required or permitted for competitors, hence the ecological friendly nature of the event. Paddle support is required for all competitors. The course has 4 changeover points located on the beach at pre-determined locations varying stage lengths from between 2.3 to 4.6 kilometres. This allows duo and team competitors to do a beach changeover while solo competitors continue on unimpeded.
All of this happening in the beautiful “Southwest” which boasts, world class wines... The finest restaurants and cuisine... old growth forests, wildflowers, whales and walks... crystal clear turquoise waters and clean white beaches... artisans, galleries and some of the world's HOTTEST surf breaks! So why wouldn’t you come and join in the fun? We’d love to see you there!
